Games superstar Richard Garriott will hold a keynote at this years Quo Vadis on Wednesday 24th April about the future of gaming and his actual project "Shroud of the Avatar".
Richard Garriott is one of the world's most popular game designers. In 2006, Richard was presented with two honors for his work in the games industry. In February, he was inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame and in March he was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards.
In October of 2008, Richard fulfilled his lifelong dream to travel to space when he launched aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station and became the sixth private citizen to fly in Earth's orbit. In doing so, Richard became the first second-generation American in space, following the path of his father Owen Garriott, who completed two space missions during his NASA career.
Today Richard is co-vice chairman of the board of Space Adventures, Ltd. and is the co-founder and creative director at Portalarium, an Austin-based game developer and publisher creating online games and virtual worlds for social networks and mobile platforms. Announcing The First Speakers!
Call for Participation and Early Bird Go into the Second Phase
Almost three months before the start of the event, we are pleased to confirm the first Quo Vadis 2013 speakers. Alongside Ed Fries (Former Vice President Microsoft Game Studios) and Al Lowe (Replay Games Inc.), visitors will see Jens Begemann (wooga), Klaas Kersting (Flaregames) and Teut Weidemann (Ubisoft / Blue Byte) give presentations and participate in panel discussions.
Our Call for Participation and our early bird discounts on tickets have both been extended to February 15, 2013. Those interested have the opportunity to apply for a workshop, discussion or lecture slot and submit topic suggestions with a focus on mobile, Free2Play and MMO gaming. As the conference will be held in English this year, we kindly ask for submissions in English.
